CRENSHAW AND PEIRCE SWORN IN AS SEC COMMISSIONERS.
September 10, 2020

We reported in SAA 2020-30 (Aug. 12) that the Senate on August 7 confirmed by voice votes the nominations of Caroline Crenshaw (Democrat) and Hester M. Peirce (Republican) as SEC Commissioners.

As announced in a Press Release, they were sworn in on August 17, bringing the Commission to full strength. Commissioner Crenshaw fills a term expiring June 5, 2024, and Commissioner Peirce’s term expires on June 5, 2025. The remaining Commissioners on the roster are Jay Clayton (Chair); Allison H. Lee (Democrat); and Elad L. Roisman (Republican).

(ed: As we’ve said before, we weren’t the first to notice this but the SEC for the first time has a majority of female Commissioners.)
