Greetings from South Florida,
Summer is fast approaching in Miami - Memorial Day and Columbus Day are its bookends.
With summer comes SER’s Annual Meeting and Conference which kicks off on 22-23 July at The Union League Club (“ULC”) in New York City.
The ULC is an easy cab ride from LaGuardia Airport and within walking distance from both Grand Central Terminal and Pennsylvania Station (making Amtrak and MetroNorth attractive rail alternatives). For those still wedded to automobiles, the Club sits on the Southwest corner of East 37th Street and Park Avenue South in the fashionable Murray Hill district of New York City and has preferred parking rates with two nearby garages.
President-elect Jeffrey Schaff and Controller Patti Koetting have fashioned both an exciting and instructive program and mandatory fun extra-curricular activities including a Saturday “Spouses/Significant Others Day” chaired by Debby Krasner and Eunice Salton.
Aside from the “fun” aspects, I remind all those who have yet to attend an SER annual conference that spontaneous networking among like-minded professionals is a valuable benefit SER membership bestows both as a learning experience and as a source of member referrals. In addition, all members, regardless of prior experience, have much to learn from his year’s emphasis on testifying skills.

As I will repeat each month for the balance of my term in office, please remember that new members are the plasma that re-invigorates SER’s lifeblood. The approval process has been streamlined, so be on the lookout for qualified candidates. Set a goal for yourself → recruit one new member over the next 12 months.
Here’s hoping I see you in New York City. To test the breadth of readership of The President’s Perspective, I will buy an after-dinner drink on Friday evening of our Conference for each of the first 10 members who remind me of this promise.
